Makaay top scored for Bayern this season with 23 goals in the league and 31 overall. Despite being a fairly prolific goalscorer for Deportivo, Bayern and Feyenoord, Makaay never really got going at international level only scoring 6 goals in 43 appearances for the Netherlands.
