The 2022–23 season was a historic one for Wrexham, as they secured promotion to the EFL League Two after 15 years in the National League. Led by manager Phil Parkinson and backed by owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham finished first in the National League, with Paul Mullin scoring 38 league goals and 47 overall.
